Scored a 20 mile set of DT Swiss RRC 425 front and 525 rear carbon tubulars on Ebay, came with new Vittoria EVO Chrono CX 21's. Well on the scale the rear no skewer was 820 and the front 688(both with tire), I was shocked how heavy they were, I decided to pull the rear tire off and investigate furthur, rear Vittoria was 195, so if both tires are the same the bare wheel weights come to 493 front and 625 rear(1118), they are actually heavier than my Boyd 24mm(471,613) but for $1680 shipped and they have new Enduro ceramics installed, guy gave me the original bearings and recipts for the ceramics and install I feel I got a good deal, im gaining some aero going from 24mm to 32mm, little less bearing resistance and way less tire rolling resistance(I run Tufo's on the Boyds). Riding just a few miles the bike does feel smoother, I will give it a shot on my 19m hilly time trial tomorrow to see if there is an improvement, done it 8 times this year so it should be realitivly accurate.

At this point my bike it stuck at dead heavy, I really wanted to be under 11.0 with pedals, cage and GPS mount, it's not going to happen.

Drill speed holes in the cages, gps mount, and rims.

Actually the whole thing blows, if they weighed 955 I would be more in to reaching the goal weight without turning it into an unridable 10.9 bike, now it's just going to stay where it is.

cool story bro!

You spent $1600 on wheels when you already have a light set, but didn't spend $800 on the Hollowgram crankset?

You could get some cheap cnc brakes and drop 60-80g for $100 by replacing the SRAM red brakes.

Those wheels retail for $3200, tires $130 each, ceramics+install $200, so I feel it was a good deal. I needed another set of wheels anyway since I run tubulars, now I have training wheels and racing wheels.

I have Bontrager CF brakes at 228 grams a pair and my Red crank is down to 611 w/BB with the ring change.

you should be happy, I have an evo very similar to yours but still almost 2.5 lbs heavier!!

So I got the same wheels on ebay with tires for $1500 but far more used than yours seem to be (on the seller's scale pics weighted 730 gr front with conti competition - 260 gr as for conti website - and valve extender, 1040 gr rear with same tire and a cassete which was lighter then the one Im using now). Im using the same bottle cages - you seem to have very good taste :welcome: ! bars are 3T ergonova carbon (also got zipp carbon too for the other bike, they are beautiful, got the contour short and shallow). ive got hollowgram compact with MKV chainrings and even my seatpost (149 gr) / saddle (187) / stem (98gr for a 110mm, Im using a 130mm but havent weighted..) are just a few dozens grams heavier than yours.. the only real difference is for the rest of groupset, I got ultegra to cheapen things at this early stage. weight? 13,94 lbs!! Im dead sure the diference from ultegra to red, excluding cranksets is nowhere over one pound! what the hell did I calculate wrong? Id say tires/grouposet correspond to half of the 2.44 lbs difference, so I got still almost 600 gr extra on frame (mine is a 56, heavier blck/wte paint..), tire sealant, garmin sensor, chain catcher, and heavier chromoly sp zeroes.. again, you have 2,44lbs less without spending thousands more.. congrats!

Thanks. Right now in daily trim it sits at 11.5 with cage, and gps mount.
Things that really cut weight from factory:
Wheels/ tires 110g tire save, 482 wheels
52cm bike to start
New Red Xg-1090 cog 88g
102 gram stem 54g
18g top cap 47g
160g zipp bar 130g
125g kcnc cut post 72g
145g saddle 64g
TA chainring 32g
30g pair skewers 87g
Cut fork with lighter cf spacers(35g loss:))
Bontrager brakes 52g

1253g there, I'm sure I'm missing something, bike was 14.2 with pedals day one.
