just got my 29er finished.........basically a cross frame with MTB parts on it. Got a 1.8 front tire too fit for a little suspension. Unreal fast on the trails and at 14.2 lbs......climbs way fast, MTB bikes can't even touch me! LOL

thanks....after cross season I always do lots of trail riding, figured i would try this set-up....and i must say it rocks!! plus i had all the parts laying around my shop :D

sure it can....you just have to pick perfect lines! It makes you a smooth rider for sure.....

My version of a MTB bike.....I ride it on MTB trails, making it a off-road rig. I have never seen a cross bike with flat bars, bar ends(which is illegal in cross races), grip shift, and a MTB front tire. What need is there for a comment like that?

its a Bontrager Jones XR 29x1.8 (front)....widest i could fit on my fork. great tire, light and great grip at low psi
