Nice work!
On street prices ... in early 2007 I bought a full Record 10 group for just over £900 which was then the best available price.
Best street prices for Record 2012 is a little under £1300 and for Super Record with Ti spindle best price is now a little under £1500.

You can get Campy for a fair bit cheaper than that. If you choose a chorus cassette, you can get super record for £1350 if you shop around, cheaper still if choose the non Ti spindle.

This is a fantastic resource - many thanks for the effort in putting it together.
If there's any chance you could add in Ultegra 6700? That would be very interesting - especially for comparing to Ultegra Di2
Thanks again.

10. Shimano Ultegra DI2, 2619.3 grams
Is the overall weight for Chorus typed wrong, or has it been put in the wrong position in the list?
Not poking holes, I've been considering Chorus for my next bike so very interested! Thanks.

I think that the 6700 group is around the 2400-2500g mark......just a bit under the Ultegra Di2.

Probably just in the wrong position.
Ciao,
Based on the deltas in the individual weights, Chorus looks to be in the wrong position. It also looks like the Record front dérailleur weight is mistyped. I'm guessing it should be 72.2g, not 76.2g (which would make it heavier than Chorus).

I noticed that as well about SR EPS vs Record EPS. For the bits specific to electronic shifting (FD, RD, Shifters) virtually no change in weight. Got to be the worst $/gram ever.
But that's nothing new for Campy. They lack definition across the top three groups for several parts. Namely, shifters and front derailleurs.

I happen to have a complete 2012 Chorus group here, just about to go on to my new bike
I will weigh it on the Weekend, though my scales don't do decimals it should give you a good place to start

Could You please list total weights without cables?
All of the groups listed are the new 2012 versions.
I wouldn't be interested in the complete list without cables because it wouldn't be a fair comparison since you can't remove what would be the equivalent of shifter cables from the electronic groups. It would be fair to compare mechanical groups without cables, but not mechanical to electronic.
Hm, I thought that NEW Sram RED 2012/2013 was supposed to be 200g under SR! Are we really talking about the NEW stuff 2012/2013 or 2011/2012 model year before overhaul?
Thanx for clearing it to me.
great contribution! really appreciate it.. very useful source of info. Thanks.

I inserted it into the list in the original post. Total group weight it went in 10th place ahead of only 6770. Price it went in first as least expensive. Trimmed weight was 8th.

Overall weight was correct, I just stuck it in the wrong spot on the list.

Yes it is the new 12/13 Red. But I went back over my numbers and found that I had somehow mistyped a couple times. I entered a cassette weight for Sram that was 20 grams heavier than it should have been. Originally I had typed 2145.6 for the complete weight, then I had entered, 2135.6 on another occasion and the actual is 2125.6.
I've seen variation in reported weights from others as well. I know someone that is 24 grams lighter with their chain and bottom bracket, although their crank is 15 grams heavier. So if I were in the marketing department and I picked the lightest pieces, I could get 2099 grams. If when comparing to SR I chose the steel spindle and heavier SR brakes the weight of that group would go up to 2213. A difference of 114 grams. Of course you have to remember when a marketing person is comparing groups they aren't going to go out of their way to create a fair comparison, they are going to find the mix that favors them the most.

Pretty sure that these SRAM weights aren't the BB30 cranksets. From what I recall, the bb30 cranks are supposed to be significantly (50g+) lighter, but aren't really available yet (or maybe they just are becoming available?). Also, they are probably not comparing to the high end SR crank that is listed. So, not really apples to apples in this, or SRAM's marketing: I'd expect a comparison of the lightest offering, or the common offering to be consistent.
