If you use your snipping tool (screen capture) to copy the image and then save the new file as a jpeg it will be small enough to load. At least it works for me :noidea:

There's a similar thread going on Slow Twitch that has some really cool stuff. Here's what I did for mine:

I'd like to do something similar for my gravel bike, which has a Thomson X2 stem. Problem is that there are only two faceplate bolts and they're arranged vertically. I'm not convinced that a single bolt bracket is going to be sturdy enough, particularly on gravel roads. The stem walls are pretty thick. I wonder if I could drill and tap 2 mounting holes on its underside without creating a stress riser and subsequent stem failure. That would probably ruin my day...

Some AC Bar Fly photos:

Pretty light considering the stock mount + bands is 8g.

Mount is very stable on bumpy roads. The screen does not vibrate at all.

Ordered a second one.

Really slick. How do you retain the plastic disc? Press fit + epoxy or is there a fastener I'm not seeing?

Only Press fit on this model until I found out a final model.

Agreed.
Very slick!
I wonder if the vibrations would be more pronounced on a rigid mounted, cnc alum part vs the plastic Bar Fly...not that it matters that much in the grand scheme of things.
Whats the weight Tillquist?

Another option is the Controltech Taxxi computer mount. This is 10g, nylon, and mounts off the stem bolts, but allows bolt access.

http://www.controltechbikes.com/test/pr ... ?pro_id=71

It's on ebay, and the same thing is also sold in Asia as PZ Racing CR3.

Also not to be forgotten as been around for a long time as used for aerobar mounting, is the Nob (XL)which is also about 10g, and doesn't need to mess with the stem bolts. Mount this on one side, to mount the Garmin unit further 3cm or so forward of the bars.
http://www.competitivecyclist.com/za/CC ... 9444&MODE=

I've ordered both for the new Garmin 500 in the mail.

this thing is serious right here. looks like a great piece!

another use for aspire velo tech . im still * convinced it's the best from an adjustability point of view. u can move the mount up to clear the stem (for 705 or 800). u can move it down to be hella flush with stem, u can rotate the garmin mount around the carbon car for different stem angles. etc etc. probably the heaviest one in the thread, but who cares about weight anyways...... Doesn't take anything away from all the custom stuff going on here. i love the ingeniuty! and those cnc pieces looks sick...

Never mind the finished product, but this shows an interesting method for gain of basic clamp action using an under-faceplate bracket that uses existing faceplate-to-bar grip.

No need to use faceplate bolts directly, or build a separate bar clamp.

Perhaps a worthwhile start to lightweight in front of stem mount?

The AC barfly is perfect, except for one major deal-breaker- it holds the Garmin 500 too high and in the wind. I wish it were lower, putting the 500 in front of the bars for a cleaner profile. Let's hope the SRAM version correct this.
