Look 586 SL
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
I built up this frameset a few weeks ago after picking it up for a good price along with a new Campag groupset. My son will be the primary user but I will get to use it from time to time when I fancy a change from my normal ride. This does mean our Look 595 / Dura Ace bike will probably need to be moved on but there you go.
I enjoy taking inspiration from others builds so here you go;
Look 586 SL med (2011)
Campag Super Record groupset
Deda Zero 100 bar / 3T Team stem
Fizik Antares saddle
Mavic Kysrium SLR wheelset
15.1 lbs as pictured below
Although the Lightweights will not be used on this bike, I couldn't resist 13.9 lbs as below
Cheers
Rich

nice!
makes me really want to go out and get the 586.....again
i had the 586 last year...then changed it to 695 a few weeks ago.
the 586 just feels more nimble when i climb. (i lost quite a bit of weight and now the 695 feels a little too strong for me. i am 60kg now)
Enjoy the 586 SL.....
and just some trivia news - Most of the Cofidis team opted for the 586 SL for Paris-Roubaix....

oh yes.
586sl + LW's = win. proportions are so right with moderately deep rims. I would change my one to Campy in a heartbeat except:
1) my LW's are 1st gen with Dura-ace hubs
2) I can't justify the Campy SRM.

How is the 586 SL compared to the 595?

I actually prefer the Mavic wheelset for this build. Looks great. I'd switch to a white stem, maybe the Deda Zero 100.

Very nicely done. One of the nicer Looks on the forum.
Suggestions - agree with greenduck on white stem. White spacers and hoods would also work well on this.

Why would you not run the LW's in it?
That said, looks fantastic with the Mavic's in. Great build, excellent weights. Well done.
