I have been looking around to see if i can get a couple light 29er tubes to carry on race day as a spare. My current tube is 205 grams which is brutal and can't seem to find a company that makes a light weight one. Anyone know??

use a standard 700c tube?

Light 26er tube.
A 700 tube would be pretty dang thin in most 2+inch 29er tires.
For certain parts stiffer is more important than lighter.

schwalbe extralight 29er tube- 140g claimed. standard version is 220g claimed. seems pretty good.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm thinking either a 700 x 38 -43c or maybe pick up some of those schwalbes.

I use the Continental Tour Light 700c X35 tube (I use CX tires on my 29er). 99gms. No punctures for 2 months till I went tubeless.

Eclipse tubes? About 60 gr I think.

A bit expensive though.

Latex cyclocross tube. Michelin or Challenge offer those and they are pretty light.

A large volume 26inch tube works much better than an overly inflated cross tube. Volume is important, not the diameter (within reason).

A bonus is that the light 26inch tubes are much easier to find.
