Finally... Sub 12lb - BMC SLC01 (5.43kgs)
Moderators: MrCurrieinahurry, maxim809, Moderator Team
Hi All,
Firstly,
I have absolutely no intention of spending anymore cash on this bike,
its done,
its the best I could do without comprimising durability or asthetics.
Its been finished for a while but I only got the opportunity to weigh it last night, came in bang on expectations at 5.43kg's
And before you ask, I had this frame well before Cadel Evans was a household name in Australia (where I am from).
2008 BMC SLC01, 51cm (54.5TT)
Reynolds MV32-UL's running 240s hubs
lightning cranks
bolts tuned
jockey wheels replaced
powerchordz
custom parts (cage, brifter mounts, deraileur clamp)
etc..
etc..
sorry about the quality of the photogtaphy.

Stronglight chainrings from a set of pulsion cranks (R.I.P). I think they are a shiny version of the CT2's.
I will agree with you about the chainring bolts, can see your problem with the tyres,... but I thought the Ritchey WCS red stem was a nice touch.
Thanks for your comments

Remove the wheels decals. Will look much nicer.

5.43kg is impressive. SLC01 is not a lightweight frame to start with.
have to agree above posters opinion on colors, black tires and less red on the stem would do better.
3T ARX Team is not a bad choice.

I am super impressed with the weight! If I can chime in, the tires and bolts do "cheapen" a not-at-all cheap bike. As far as the stem goes, I like it. it would look much better slammed, would make it flow better.

fantastic bike.
I am totally against de-badging wheels, as that is the least euro thing to do.
Keep it the way it is. and definitely slam that stem and smash the hell out of the pavement.
Very classy ride.

Way to go, because that makes it a lot more original among all the stealth black bikes here
Of course you can experiment with black tyres, de-delalled rims etc, but I'm already really liking it as is. Just ride!

I'm against removing wheel decals, they look good anyway - unlike some wheels. The red stem is great, I almost bought that for a previous build. As for the tyres, I'm a Conti GP4000S guy...and they only come in black!!
Very impressive weight, enjoy!
