Hi,

I`m wondering can anybody help me with my issue..

I bought a set of Hed stingers 4 with shimano freehub body back in early 2011.I am now looking to change to campagnolo 11 speed,so i got a new hed campag freehub body.

When i put on the cassette and tighten it ,it leaves no space between the lock ring and the end cap..

Any help would be appreciated..

there is a little space there.
campy wheels often leave very little space between the lockring and the dropout. mavic wheels are an exception. is it possible the lockring is insufficiently tightened? a little spacer compression, etc..

Did you just pop on the freehub body or did you change the spacers as well? I swapped from a Campy body to a Shimano body and this is what Andy @ Hed sent me.

Hi,

thank you for your replys.

I have tighten the cassette too the right torque but has made no difference.

BeeSeeBee, I have striped the hub down to its axle but i dont have any washer or spacers as your diagram would show.. See photo..

Is this diagram for a older Hed wheel model. My year model is 2011 with the red bearing seals and caps..

Is there anyone outer who has had similar problem..

Is there a special end cap to be used with the campag freehub body?which would give you more clearance..

Had the same issue with the Campagnolo freehub on my 2011 Stinger 6's.

I found that my used 11spd Record casette would bind when I tightened the lockring, but a new 11spd Chorus casette would be OK. The local HED distributor swapped my freehub body, and I still had the same issue.

To fix this, I skimmed about 1 mm off the bottom threaded portion of the lock ring. Took about 5 minutes with a piece of 800 grit wet & dry paper on a flat surface.

I put the binding down to the fact that either the plastic spacers between the older casette cogs must have very slightly worn thinner over time, causing the lock ring to foul, or Campagnolo made a running change to the casette cog spacings.

Hope this helps. Cheers, Dean.
