Hand painting my bike...

Another addition to the frame, in progress...
With regard to frame prep all I did was give the frame a clean, feathered out the numerous scratches with some fine grade sandpaper & then prayed with a can of satin spray paint. I'm using Posca pens and will need to give it a good clear coat after it's finished.

That's talent and art! Kudos to you!
What finish clear do you plan, glossy, matte, satin, etc.?

thread title does not sound promising at all...until you see the results. outstanding

i painted a steel frame once. turned out very nice. consider UPOL clear coat. i used one can, but probably should have used 2 since it was thin in some places. sanded + polished the entire thing after the clearcoat (lots of work) - but it looks professional. everyone assumes i had it done professionally anyway. in fact, i've had people ask if its a joe bell paint job.

And if I ever meet an aardvark, I'm going to step on its damn protruding nasal implement until it couldn't suck up an insect if its life depended on it.
