Can they be brought as a spare part...? And if so where from..?
They are if I'm correct made of alloy and will fit just about any other shifter body. Eg campag SR, making for a great upgrade/weight saving if they can be got for cheap...

This is the part number. Y-6RT98130

Part #11 in this doc. http://techdocs.shimano.com/media/techd ... 683887.pdf

Any one have any ideas or other information regarding em?

They're available from the Shimano distributor. I was looking to do the same thing but the cost is prohibitive. They would be much expensive than the Tune / BTP carbon clamps.
I put an ad in the wanted section for 2nd hand clamps but didn't receive any replies.

I just saw a set of replacement carbon clamps that save 10g if you're interested.
I'll see if I can find them if you want.

Sure, what do you think of the carbon clamps..? I like push the descents very hard and I'm 85kgs..
Having the ergo come off in your hands at 80kph into a corner wouldn't be fun..

Personally, I prefer metal for certain things.
I'd never consider replacing shifter bands with carbon myself.
But that being said, someone who's actually had them can
better tell you how they perform. I've never used them.

For example, I'm choosing to go with an aluminum replacement
derailleur clamp over carbon even though the aluminum clamp
weighs 8 grams more. BUT, I will be riding with much more peace
of mind and that's worth the 8 grams.

I have been looking for replacements for the campy ones... the only choices i could find were the BTP carbon and dura ace TI
4 or 5 users on this board have been using the carbon ones with no issues, but I just couldn't mental get on board like "sugarkane"

My main reason was not the weight, but the campy one rust/corrode the new 11speed ones are a little lighter than the 10 speed ones and they were supposed to be alloy but campy changed them at the last minute.

Anymore options would be great!!!

I'm looking for a campag upgrade too

I'm not quite sure what this means though.

sugarkane, I think uraqt is referring to the possibility of them breaking. There have been a few pics of broken clamps on the forum. At least the cables should keep the Ergo attached to the bars!

That's the reason I was looking at alternatives as well. There was guy on the forum who was going to manufacture some clamps in ti. There appeared to be quite a bit of interest in them but I don't think they were ever made.

Also as far as I can tell, the Shimano Ti clamps don't save that much weight over the lightened Campag 11s clamps.

Sorry ... sugarkane, I am worried about breaking the carbon clamps... I didn't that there were examples of them breaking!!! Now I am scared to death..... All I could find were users that we happy and would buy them again, but I didn't get them and now won't.
