Hi folks,

First post on this forum, I'm looking for some really light jockey wheels, I've seen some Aerozine ones at 11.6g a pair, cant find anything much light around, is there anything.

Cheers

I bought myself some roth shek (google it). Around 7-8 gms for the pair. You also have fibrelyte that makes the same thing. Also, check out AFCbike.com's delrin jockey wheels :)

They look good too, gone for the Aerozine ones though, mainly as the colours match other bits + they are a bit cheaper. Might try the one of the other ones on a different bike

For those using carbon pulleys what is the life span of those compared to aluminum?

carbon on mtb is not the best way

i think aluminum is better and is cheaper and looks nice.

^^^ good find on those 8) - price:weight is pretty good even though the asymmetrical design makes them look a bit weird. :?

and Bolzen = bolts..... which on SRAM X0 are alloy anyway

I use the Mt Zoom ultralight ones, they've outlasted all the others I've tried - I had some carbon ones which lasted about 6 weeks. There's a bit of wear on the anodising after 8 months, which I can live with!

This component must be a little harder not so lighter, the KCNC's or similar is not durable, get SRAM/Shimano better

XTR jockeys are quite light and very durable.

They haven't lasted very long on my bike. The lower one definately doesn't spin very well any more.

Has anyone tried the KCNC ones?

I've been using my KCNC's for years.
They perform well, and are quite light.
When there is a sound or creak coming from them i open them up, clean and re-grease them.

is there a real weight reduction compared with shimano jockey wheels? how many grams?

shimano jockey wheels always lasted more than alu jockey wheels. it was like that in 1996, i don't think it has changed.
Happy Trails !!!
