The new producers of "Lightweight Wheels", Carbonsports, have put a very informative and beatifully styled section about their new product on their website.
It gives a history of the original makers Dierl and Obermayr as well as detailed technical info.
For those of you weenies capable of the german language, a link worth clicking!

Yes we have :)
but before i or someone else invest the time, lets wait a little.
Stefan Behrens from Carbonsports is frequently active in the forum of the german magazie "tour". i asked him when we can expect the english version. I'll keep you posted.

Just got word from Stefan (talk about fast response...): english version will be available in a fortnight. Can you wait that long?

Update!

the english version is available.
I've rarely seen such a nice and informative website about any cycling product. Highly recommended!

Thanks Martin, very interesting and well written :!:
Do you completely agree with the spoke/turbulence discussion though?
It seems the analysis is made relative to straight-on wind direction, how much does it change in a side wind?
Still, a very convincing description....

This pentagonal comparison graph is a great thing, really a very efficient way of describing relative essential characteristics!!!

From the Lightweight website:

"The measurements quoted from the test are given as gravitational forces. The gravitational force must be overcome to move the wheel forward at 45 kph. The number shown is the average of several wind angles: The wheels were slanted away from the wind in 5° increments to simulate cross winds."
