Hey - I'm building a Scott Scale and have made a blog about it and some other things. The bike is not as nice as Emanuels Scott but it's going to be nice.

The spec-list (so far):
Scott Scale 35 frame
DT Swiss XRC100 fork
FSA headset
Rotor S2 stem
New Ultimate EVO flatbar
Scott Racing grips
Noname carbon seatpost
Selle Italia SLR carbonio seat
Sram XX gears and brakes
New Ultimate disc wheelset

Thanks man - I'm hoping for around 8,3 kg depending on pedals :-)

appoligies for my ignorance, what is new ultimate wheelset?
also, IMO quite a heavy frame for a light build.
what are the crankset ideas?
weight concerned = good, weight obsessed = bad!

Hello Sandal - no needs to apologies :-)

New Ultimate wheelset is build with New Ultimate hubs (with 120 engagementpoints), Sapim CX Ray spokes and FRM rims. The weight is around 1390 grams.

Sounds cool :-P

The factory set has white rims but I got a set with black rims so no heavy white paint :-) Thinking about replacing the spokes with Sapim Superspokes - should save about 50 grams.

I know the frame isn't superlight but this is not going to be something really exciting but just a 8 kg hardtail :-) I'm going for Sram XX crankset. I have the Sram XX setup on my fully and likes it so I'm going to have the same setup on my hardtail.

Either get hold of an M950 E-Type front mech or the 38.6mm clamp on SRAM front mech. Either will be lighter than the bog standard M770 they come with.

5shot - I'm building this bike for my girlfriend so I'm starting with some...... platform pedals  hehe

schmiken - The XT e-type is just a fd I had laying around so thought I would give it a shot but the cage is sitting pretty high compared to the 39 chainring so I think I will get a Sram XX fd.

Yeah, mine (M952) sits pretty high as well. As long as the shifting stays as good as it does I'll not bother changing!
