Campy crankset CULT bearings require oil for lubrication rather than grease. Does anyone know what kind or grade of oil is required for these bearings? The Campy literature does not seem to provide a specification.

Back in my inline speedskating days I acquired this Bont labelled lube stuff alledgedly tailormade for ceramic bearings. That's what I use. I guess any high quality non-thick lube oil will do.

Cult bearings do not "require" any lube according to Campy. They do suggest if you want to lube to use a thin oil. Sewing machine oil is cheap and has been recommended by Campy techs for some time. Leaves no build up to gunk things up or attract dirt. I have used it on my SR crank for several years, maybe every 8000 miles. Really the cult bearings take very little maintenance

This one comes up quite often. I was told by Campag service centre in UK to use Sewing Machine Oil. It's very light and is also very cheap.

+1

I use the Bont lube for ceramic bearings as well. 2 drops it's all it needs.

Hi,

LU2116 is the type of lube Campa recommends.

Sewing oil ( fine mineral oil), Triflow, it's not really important as all it needs to do is to quieten the noise generated by the ceramic balls running on the metal races.

Ciao, ;)
