What do you want out of your saddle? You need comfort, fit, then asthetics and weight..
Measure your "sit" bones to find what size seat you need, determine how much comfort you are willing to give up over weight savings and pick the saddle that you like.
After riding it for a while, you can determine if you want to try a different saddle...
It took me 3 trys to finally decide on my 143mm Specialized Romin Carbon..
If you belong to a local riding group, ask to try out some other riders saddles from their spare parts...

MY quest for a saddle that suit me was:
Back in the 80's = Selle Italia Turbo
Since the last 5 yrs=
Selle Italia SLR Gel Flow = 6/10
Fizik Aliante = 7/10
Filiz Arione = 2/10
Selle Italia SLR XP = 6/10
Spech Toupe = 7/10
San Marco Aspide = 8/10
(Notes based on personal feel)
I'd like to try the Prologo Scratch Nack
