Hi,

Brand new to cyclocross, looking at good beginner frames for my body type. short legs and long torso. my selection is down to the giant and the kona because of price. I can't seem to find the geometry for the kona Jake the Snake anywhere. I've tried emailing them also but nothing in response yet. it's been almost a week. so i don't expect any response. there isn't a local dealer, closest is about 60 miles away.

Does anyone know of the geometry of the kona jake the snake? if so please post them.
Also what other brands should i consider taking into account my short inseam and price range.

I ride a 53.5 top tube length giant tcr for road and scott scale medium for mtb. i race both and looking to get into racing cross.

Thanks for any help.

i've already tried searching but nothing came up.

This is all I've ever seen for geomtery. Have you called a dealer yet? Maybe it's in the paper catalog
Those who say it cannot be done should not interrupt the people doing it.

here is the geometry of the Kona (top right): http://www.konart.net/2K6_Catalog_Proof_pgs62-63.jpg

You could also take a look at the Ridley Crossbow or the Redline Conquest Pro framesets, they both cost about $500.

Have fun desciding  [/url]

Thanks Boonen

That helps a lot. Now I'm just gonna look for feedback on the frames. I'm not sure what to look for though so it's difficult.

Chooses are:

Kona (major jake or jake the snake)
Giant TCX
Redline disc (due to sloping top tube)
Ridley (although the fit seems to be a little less matching)

All with the price of about $500 USD with the giant being the cheapest due to team discounts.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

i started my cyclocross career with jake the snakes. they're cool bikes. of all cross bikes i've ridden so far(kona, alan, bixs, ridley), kona comes very close to the handling of a mtb and is the best bike for technical courses.
disadvantage is the high weight(fork is over 1 kilo).
