Trying to build up my new bike, I am decided for definite on the frame and i also want deep section wheels (preferably zipp). Below is my list of components with weights. Can anyone think of any cost effective swaps they would make to make it lighter without removing parts?!! The one weight in my list i am unsure of is the handlebar

Before anyone mentions it, i am aware of how long this took.....

If it were mine, I'd ditch the FSA Plasma in favour of separate bars & stem. In the first place it's better to be able to adjust the angle of the bar relative to the stem, secondly FSA are notorious in their inability to read a set of scales or tell the truth.

Bottom bracket on the Advanced SL is pressfit so I think you're limited to Dura Ace.

With the money saved on the bars, upgrade top Sram Red callipers and perhaps a better crankset.

I had gone with the bars for stifness but what your saying does make sense, any suggestions on bars/stem?

Also any good cranksets in mind?

Bars are personal. Suss out what you like the shape of and go from there.

I use Deda Zero 100 for both.

WRT cranks, Dura Ace perhaps or Red?

With the bars I'm thinking 420mm width with a shallow drop

Will see if I can get the weights for the red and DA chain set, also the red calipers and see what it does to the weight.... Would love to get it below 14.....

I'd question frame weight. Is it real? Including seat clamp, RD hanger, cable guide, etc?

KMC XL chain.

Lighter saddle 125-150g max.

Aim for bar/stem 300-325g.

I'm trying conti 50g tubes right now.

With the wheels I guess you're going for aero over weight.

Frame weight is correct although it's an a medium an I need a medium large.

Wheels are for aero rather than weight

Will look into saddles as well, this was just the one I had already, seems to be large jumps in prices to get any lighter

I'm guessing in the coming months you'll be able to pick up red cranks and brakes off ebay and craigslist at increasingly good prices....
But you will need a new pressfit BB as well.

What are you using for QRs?
Are the specilized tires actually any good?

the tryes are really good, i would only use specialized tyres, been using them for years now and there top quality. The winter armadillo tyres are brilliant.

Was just running with the standard zipp QRs... any suggestions there?

Is that frame weight verified on the scales? I'd be amazed if it is. I'd expect a M TCF to be much nearer 1KG, and I predict your build will be more like 6.9KG when built up.

Avoid the SRAM Red/Ultegra mish-mash is my main piece of advice. Will look like 5hit frankly.

yeah, its the brakes I have and love them. The KCNC C7s are lighter, but a lot more expensive.

mish mash is just because i already have an ultegra groupset which i can use some of.

I have a large frame here, i will weigh it later on and see how it comes up. The medium weight came from someone else weighing it for me
