You definitely can shave off more weight by replacing your wheelset. Nice build though.

Sometimes you have to move fast...

This morning I got a very good deal on ZIPP 404 Firecrests.... got them for a real bargain (brand new) ;-)

The 404 FC matches perfect with the tires... looks & feel -> almost 1 unit.

Looks much more classic to me now.
Also saves +500Gr of weigth!

What do you guys think?

Should have gotten the "Beyond Black" and would have had black spokes, black hubs and outline decals... Ah well, still looks better then the 1080/808 combo. Enjoy!

Weight reduction so easy?

Replaced the 1080 / 808 clinchers for 404FC clinchers... saves me a massive 563gr!!!
Replacing the brake pads (original Campi to Zipp cork) 1 gr per pad -> 4gr
Total already saved 567gr

Bringing the lean bike (without bottles, Edge800 and massive saddle bag) to 7413gr...
Not too bad for a 62cm bike... oke also not real WW...

It's a trade off between comfort, quality and stiffness....

Later I will be able to save at least 25gr on the saddle post and 5 gr on the fork stem.... 30gr.
So be able to go to 7.383gr

Not sure how to reduce more without changing parts as I am happy with the bike now (look & feel)...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Could not help myself...

Saved met actually 24gr by cutting seatpost -/-70mm
Leaves me an extra 1.5cm before max hight is achieved...

So bike is now at 7389gr ;-)

The yard.... right....

Anybody some suggestions what to enhance on this beauty?
Not that I am not happy... it is a super bike that feels & rides SUPERB.... but you always need something to dream off... right?

it doesn't need anything else. Any good artist knows that knowing when to stop is one of the most important lessons to learn. sure you could make it lighter or more blinged out, but you'd lose a lot of the modern classic character it has now.
But if you're still looking for something try Veloflex tires and a chaincatcher.

THX ;-)

What is the advantage of a chaincatcher? (Or what is a chaincatcher...)
