I'm looking to upgrade to a nice full carbon rig this year. The problem is that so many frames only go up to 58cm. Cannondale, Focus, Blue, BH, Ridley et. So I've narrowed it down to Felt, Specialized, Trek, Stephens, Kona. Tending towards the Felt F3x based mainly on price, but I 'm open to suggestions. Looking not to spend too much. $3500 max.

Ideas? I'd also consider a frameset and build it up myself if needed.

At least Ridley has frames up to 64cm as they measure their sizes c-c. Meaning a 56cm Ridley-sized is a 60cm c-t (That's what I use with 193cm). Another hint is the Dutch brand Beone, I have a 62cm c-t Beone Raw frame and it was not the largest size.

The Beone Chase is pretty low end Aluminium frame. Pity as I have a contact at Beone.

I do have the Beone Raw which is full-carbon, just see the pics. And as said it is not the largest size.

Wow. That's a beautiful bike. Really like how understated it is. Classy. Strange though that it isn't on Beone's website (edit take that back, I just found it, it's frame only). Pity that it doesn't have oversized lower H/S race, or BB30, and is 1400 Euros. Forthat price I'd way race go with the Kona Carbon, which is cheaper and in my opinion more current.

I've pretty much made up my mind on a Felt F4X though. I prefer the decals to the F3X and will upgrade parts as needed. Probably not my first choice, but with so few options in 60cm +, it will have to do.

I´m also tall. 1.96 but I ride a smaller cx frame compared to my roadbikes , I thought most people do? I mean you should not just transfer your road geometry to your cross.

Thanks, but we didnt anything about transferring road geo to my cross bike. I ride 63cm on the road. There is no way I can fit on a 58cm cross frame. I ended up getting a great deal on a 61cm Trek Cronus 2011 model.

FWIW the Ridley's run bigger than they measure...

True but the top tube on the 58cm is still way too short and the high end carbon models only go to 58cm

as much as it pains me to say this, the crux is a solid bike...

i ride xl scotts and im 6ft 3 with very long legs.

58cm cannondale is a big bike, im 6'7 and it worked for me.
59cm TT

Is this the 60cm (C-T) size then?

Can you say the saddle height en distance from the saddle to the stem?

Ibis Hakkalugi? They make a 61. Kona makes some big bikes too.

Avoid the Ridley... it would be a terrible bike for you.

They "run big" only in the seat tube length. For instance, a "56" has a seat tube measurement of 60cm, yet only a 56cm TT. They are made for people with long legs and very short torsos.

Agreed that the Crux would be a solid choice. I have a friend who is 6' 4" and really likes his. The framesets are a bargain.
