Varsity! Heck yeah! Those were great! I believe my current car weighs less than that bike...

A glorious 40 lbs in standard trim. I can't imagine how many of those were sold in the 70's. Definitely need to score that and forget the EVO. Everyone's going to have one next season:-)

I'm actually in the middle of restoring a yellow one for my uncle. They are great bikes! US made in Chicago, sexy high flange hubs, etc... Definitely doesn't have the same performance as current generation bikes, but I still think they are pretty rad.

My first 10 spd was a World Traveler, in a green of the era that was fairly close to the Liquigas green! What goes around comes around.

If your budget can stretch that far, go for the Schwinn Continental over the Varsity.

You should do a time trial up OLH with both and compare times.

Excellent idea! Twenty iterations, double-blind, ANOVA.

So seeing as how San Francisco seems overrun by the hipster fixie crowd, which costs more? You could probably score a deal on the EVO, but you'll have to beat away at least half a dozen ironic mustaches to get to the varsity.
