 Post subject: cervelo S3 and enve 6.7

anyone have any info on a 2010 S3...

will be hitting the GO button on some enve 6.7 and want to make sure they will clear...

I think the 2009 S3 had issues?

but the 2010 is ok???

any ideas....

I have tested the new 404 FC on a 2009 S3 and all is fine. the only difference between the 2009 and 10-11 models was where and how wide the stays were as they got near the dropout. It really only had issues with low profile rims with very wide spokes.

The width of the area that the rim sits is the same on all models.

It is not because of the rim that certain wheels won't fit the S3, but about the stance width of the spoke flange of the hub.

I believe Enve wheels have DT hubs, which have a rather narrow spoke flange width.

it is a combination of the width of spoke, depth of rim and width of the left flange. A wide spoke on a low profile rim will hit the chainstay, think Fulcrum or Mavic, but a normal spoke on a deep rim will most likely not have any issues.

I've considered this, but I can't find a real solid one. Mounted on the FSA I'm scared my Garmin will fly off. It doesn't look too solid.

Do you know of others?

At the risk of derailing this thread (sorry) - Eric I agree, the FSA one is no good for the Edge 800 - sags a little and shakes terribly. I found Nirvana with Bevato International bike light mount. Carbon one has a cast aluminium bracket (very solid) and a carbon tube to mount the device to. I cut the tube to length required. Am using it for Egge 800 - perfect. There is a plastic one which is lighter but the rigid aluminium bracket avoids annoying shaking of the Garmin on less-than-perfect roads which makes the screen illegible. Mounts the Edge 800 in the perfect spot in front of the stem. Absolutely no danger of shedding the 800 over a bump.

As for the OP - the 6.7s should only represent an issue with a hub having extremely wide left spacing (such as on a triplet specific hub).

Further off-topic, this mount is sold under a lot of different brand names, and it does work *very* well. Unfortunately, it's not terribly light at ~57g. Here are a couple shots of it mounted (carbon tube trimmed) and with the 800 mounted in place:
