Scapin Blake 12k
Size Small
Campagnolo Chorus Groupset
Easton EA90 Stem
Easton EC90 SLX3 Bars
Campanolo Zonda Wheelset
Selle Italia Fibra Saddle
Time RXS Carbon Pedals

7.35kilos with pedals

Re the red cables - they will be white next spring
I did have red hoods to match the cables but ditched them and the Easton EA90 SL wheels and went for the Zonda's which look better and also provide the clearance for my rear mech when in 1st gear (wouldn't set right no matter how close I adjusted the limiting screws, it's to do with the spokes entering the hub flange and not leaving enough clearance for the mech, but anyway ot's fine now).

Not as light as the Scott Addict (about 6.7kg with pedals) I had before it but I much prefer the ride.

Don't know whether to get some Bora's, Shamal's or R-SYS SL's to go on it next...

Very nice frame. Would look even better with 1k or 3k weave.

No comparison at all. Scapin is a really innovative italian company that makes great frames.
Don't know about the specific frame but its top road and mtb frames are amazing.

The Planet-X comment was a bit baffling :noidea:

Not normally a fan of 12k but I liked the frame so much I decided I could live with it as it's a matt finish.
Now if it had been 12k glosss... no no no
Love all the different tube shapes and the aero post it came with.

Just in case anyone's interested picture was taken over looking Wirksworth in the Derbyshire Peak District.
When we get good weather it's brilliant trouble is it's noy often enough and it's downhill now for the next 5 months at least.
Better plan a Majorca trip....

Beautiful frame, never seen one before (even the Deddaccai frames look similar, but this appears to be unique) - can you get a shot of those rear seat stays? Perhaps one directly behind the tire? I'd like to see how they connect with the seattube.

Also, agree with KGT on the weave options. Maybe even a marble finish layer would be interesting.

Nice to see a Scapin. Good looking ride.

Although Scapin for me is always a superb steel frame!

I always had a soft spot for Scapins... Wonder why I don't see them more often. Maybe all they need is a Div 1 pro team sponsorship.

By the way: keep the red cables. They add a nice touch and colour reference to the red in the logo. If you switch them to white, the red in the logo will be isolated, and the composition won't work.

Stay with the red cables. Switch to iLink or Nokons if you want lighter.

And oh yeah: red is faster. Proven fact.

+1

This is a beautifully composed piece of machinery. Absolutely gorgeous.
