I have an opportunity to upgrade from a Sram Force rear derailleur to Red. I already have Red shifters but everything else is Force.

+1. If a no (or minimal cost) upgrade, go for it. Otherwise, a couple of grams and the ceramic pulleys, while nice, are functionally meaningless, especially for cross. Should be equally durable in this application.
