For training just energy drink and bar's. 700mm and one bar during one hour.
For competition 1000mm of Extreme drink and 3 energy gel with cofein 60-90 minutes before start, 700 mm energy dring and one gel during one hour. As wrote in book of HIGH5.

Water , KFC at the halfway point, then on the way back stop and get a kebab .
Once home refuel and recover with a bottle of Jack and a cigar.

Is there some kind of prize here for depriving yourself of as much food and water as possible during a ride?

Riding dehyrated sure feels like you are suffering. You are slow but at least you feel like you are suffering. A bit like turboing without a fan.
