WOW!! That's lighter than many carbon CX frames! If only i had the $$$ for a bike like that :thumbup:

It's lighter than a lot of carbon frames that cost a lot more as well ;-)

You don't need to wait for a year for the run-of-the-mill carbon frame though :-)

Anyway I'm lusting for an English bike just as much as the next guy.

Hey Guys,

I wanted to show you a quick teaser of what the paint scheme would look like and a great example of Rob's innovation.

Here's a copy of an email where Rob explains how he designed the stem:

looked a few different ideas for the cable hanger - I had thought to have
a noodle inside the stem so that the cable would enter and exit underneath,
but it required too tight a bend to get a clean run. So in the interest of a
nice straight cable run to the brake I put the cable guide through the
center of the stem. There is a tube brazed in that will accept the end of
the housing on top, and the cable will exit underneath.


I love working with a one man shop who tries to push each successive build further and further.

This bike is going to be awesome!!

Why are the bolts on the stem facing inwards? I think it looks a bit clumsy :noidea:

Hi All,

Here are some pic's Rob sent me of the nearly finished bike build. He is waiting on one part, the Lightning Cranks, which arrive today. He will ship tomorrow so I'll put up a ride report and hopefully some action pics soon.
