How important do you find power data from races?

Well, the point of SRM is that it isn't exciting, it just works. It does take all the drama out of training with power. Now that I think about it, the PC7 in alloy is pretty exciting, as far as PowerControllers go. It is a bit heavier, but is machined from billet and really looks nice. Sammy Sanchez is riding a gold anodized version, so you might be able to spice it up that way.

It shouldn't be too surprising- there was a 35+ page thread on the Garmin forum about it at one point and its been so bad for people that Quarq readily provides customers with the older Edge firmware that works the best. I blame Garmin and not Quarq, so I would recommend a Joule headunit for those that go with a Cinqo.
As for the Cinqo units themselves- I have bad luck with things breaking and I rode them in some very wet/cold conditions. Who knows what happened and why, but I know others who haven't had an issue.

My Smart's on the way very soon.
Which makes going crank based even more exciting. Race wheels + power

Wait for it Geoff....
I might even ride singles outside of race time

I think I am missing an Antipodean idiom there.
Seriously, though, there is a lot to be said for being able to ride whatever wheels you want and not have your data collection compromised. You aren't loosing anything from a weight perspective, as you are artificially limited anyway, so you may as well race with your PowerMeter.

Singles = tubs. I think it is an Aussie thing
I had a problem with my Quarq soon after it was installed - as you know - but since being replaced it has been faultless.
Connects to either my 500 or 800 every time no probs.
