Recently bumped into such frame for sale. Stuff considered rather rare, but if somebody happened to ride one, please let me know if it's worth buying? Frame weight is 1550 grams (not that bad). It comes with Look carbon fork and headset.

The pics you posted and the ones at the link are different frames. The polished one you posted looks like a Litespeed-built frame, while the other bead blasted one looks Sandvik-built.

In either case they're rare. Once used them in the 1996 tour Riis won. Jalabert had one with 650 wheels if i remember correctly. Grab it if the price is right!

PM me if you decide not to buy it, or if you buy it then decide you don't like it and want to sell it on.

This frame is bit smaller than my Peugeot (rode 800kms on it and seems ok or bit too large) therefore a chance for a perfect fit. Shorter top tube and rear triangle (looking for more racing specs and geometry) Have to measure the frame and asked seller to do the same and give me some better photos; they will land here anyway 8) .
Plan to build it with Dura Ace 7800 gropset with left DT shifter and classic lever (truly a WW'er manouver that will save me around 100 grams).
Wheels? I already have rims (Fiamme Red, one in my bedroom, one riding in rear wheel) laced do older (forged) DA hubs that roll butter smooth and last a lifetime, butted spokes 3X (DT Comp probably front and NDS, DS 2mm Champion for stiffness) with sturdy 300 grams tubie in rear and something more racing in front (poor roads). Components I will have to take some rides to get to know what works for me (Spec Roubaix test is where I found handlebar tape and saddle) but handlebar geo, stem lengh etc. will have to take a look at this.
Will be used for climbing I love; hope it comes out under 8kgs, maybe 7.8 without tons of gold and sacrificing durability.
Will buy it for 80%, especially as I earned half the cash yesterday.
Also ordered my fetish component: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jacktay/5499327815/
thanks

How much did you pay?
Frame decals, hmm look like they are destroyed a bit. Everything working well? How is the ride?

OP' s pretty clearly Litespeed built; not sure about the second poster's. Litespeed built for a number of manufacturers in the 90's. The ones made for Merckx, especially the EX, were great. Nice bikes, guys. Enjoy !

The Merckx's had a little sticker on the down tube, others not. Must have depended on business considerations.

So, guys you say it's Sandvik built frame, this one? Any different to Litespeed? Bought it finally 3 weeks ago, now I'm gathering some parts.
