I purchased a set of these hubs in green and paired them with DT Comp Spokes, Prolock nipples and some chinese carbon clinchers from ebay. Pictured here:
viewtopic.php?f=3&t=89393&p=776015#p776015

I built them radial on the front and rear NDS radial/DS 2x Cross and had my local bike shop tension the spokes for me. I've done about 200 miles on them so far on pretty rough roads and find them great, no problems at all. One thing I did notice is when you stop pedaling at speed the hubs almost sound like there screaming the clicks are happening so fast, takes a bit of time getting use to. The hubs are very smooth and roll well.

Reading from the above comments should I have built the rear DS just 1X crossed instead of 2X crossed?

If you had wanted to squeeze out the last bit of DS spacing you could have laced 1x DS elbows out.

Could have, Not should have.

Garrett,

I will NOT recommend you buying Rotaz hubs and Niobium rims cause that would irritate Mackers.

Stu seems like your disc is stuck to the words rotaz and niobium. you keep repeating them over and over in every thread you get the chance to post.

seems like your irritating alot of people on this forum, not just Mackers...

You weigh 140? Better get a 36 spoke rear hub/rim combo! :smartass:

Keep this sort of sniping in private, please. It adds nothing to the discussion, is rude to the posters involved in the thread, and can have the side effect of making you sound like a bit of a jerk.

For the bikehubstore "SuperLight" rear hubs the bearings are spec'd

Four sealed Enduro bearings (3 x 6802, 1 x 6902)

Wondering if the Dati one saves the weight in the bearings (smaller sizes) or elsewhere.

Yes can anyone please verify? Also How are the bearings used in this hub compared to the bearing size used in the C-4 and tune 170 hubs?

I have two sets of kinlin rims built on similar hub : circus monkey/dixi @ 78gr/224gr.

A set has over 7000km with some rain and the bearing are still very smooth (like new to be honest).

I've purchased a third set for my CX bike.

So I was pretty happy with these hubs till now.
They got just above 2.5k m I'm 200lb.
First issue, the creaking noise. Smaller bearing in the free hub body was completely smashed.
Did replace it, but creaking was still there.
Today I looked inside once again and found that one of the pawls was broken, then found another surprise, the spindle was broken as well :o

Somebody could say, coincidence, but one of the members of other forum had similar issue with this hub.
His pictures will tell you the story:
Mileage about 3k m, he's about 171lb.
Firstly that's what he found:

That was the next discovery:
https://picasaweb.google.com/carloz.car ... 7210044434" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;"

Coincidence? For me it's just a very bad quality.
Hope that will help others to avoid the similar problems with these hubs. Just pick something else :)

+1
I was also happy with them until 6000 km when the freehub inner bearing collapsed.
PITA to get the bearing out, ended up replacing the whole freehub assembly.

Can anyone confirm that this has 19mm drive side spacing? I've seen conflicting data
