a pretty light piece of equipment that I have not heard too much about. Anyone out there use it? Is it OK for a not-so-light rider?(180 pounds and losing weight as we speak) Thanks in advance.

I don't know. I've had one sitting here still in the box for two months now waiting on my Colnago C-50 to arrive. Once it gets here I'll be able to give you an opinion.

I wouldn't trust magnesium stems, they're too prone to breaking!

I have a Mag00, I really like it. Its really stiff, and a lot stouter than the ITM THE STEM. If you like it, I'd say its a sensible buy, although expensive (compared to the syntace, but syntace isn't oversized)

When we are at it: can the following entry be true?

Category Stems
Manufacturer Deda Elementi
Model Mag 00
ProdYear 2003
Size 120 mm
Claimed weight 98 g
Real weight 146 g
Comments 1 1/8", for 31.8 mm bars

It received it a few weeks ago and released it, altough I really had (and still have) doubts about it.

I actually weighed that Florian, it was from late last summer. I couldn't beleive it either. It wasn't the scale either, it is accurate. The Mag is an over-priced stem that is not anywhere close to claimed weight. Deda has a real problem with claimed weights. On average they seem to be off by at least 25%.

Sad but really true.
Deda occupies the last place with an average +12.64% on all their products listed here on Weight Weenies. :(

Is it probably a '01 or '02 model? It seems as if they weighed less.
