Foss inner tubes - are they really as good as they claim?

Does anyone have experience with these new tubes? They seem too good to be true. Maybe they are as good as the promo material says but any first hand experience would be appreciated. There are lots of u tube clips about them.

I really like the concept and thing that some time in the future we will have inner tubes that could in fact never go flat- but i see two possible issues here-

With a compound that adheres well enough to foreign objects so that a seal can be made- what is to say that the inner tube will not completely vulcanize itself to the tire and rim bed?

And while the adhesion qualities of the compound may be sufficient to seal around the foreign object at 1-2 psi as seen in the demonstration, it very well may leak like any other tube when punctured at 120 psi. There is a huge difference in pressure at 120 psi than at 2 psi, a difference that the inner tube may not be able to handle

That being said- it would be really sweet if that tube was legit.

Are these not just a cheaper, heavier version of those 29g Swiss Eclipse tubes or the same tubes under a different name/colour?

Re. the Eclipse inner tubes, I'd like to try a pair, but EUR 100 for 2 inner tubes is just having a laugh. Obviously these are priced on a £ per g saving basis, but anyone willing to spend that sort of money would be better served getting tubulars. And even on a £ per g basis, they are still an expendable item, not like say a crankset which should last for many many years.

Sell them for £10 / EUR 12 each, then I will try them.

I have both Foss and Eclipse and currently use Eclipse. I've had the weld open up on one Foss tube and have heard from others experiencing the same. I've already had two punctures with Eclipse but I have to fault thorns and nails for those. One micro-leak as well. Everything easily patched with Eclipse's patches.

The thing with the nails is impressive indeed, but does it also work at 8 bar inside the tyre?

I've been running the foss tubes for a few months now.. I like them they have a great feel and seem to roll very well
If you do get a puncher I usually find out the next day cause they leak very slowly..
Easy to fix and they are lite.
A bit of a win really I get them for around $18 each from the Australian distributer
