Bike looks awesome, J. I just got my seat post in and am rearing for some rides around the bay area... Let me know if you have any weekend rides local to the SF area that I can join in on to try to gain some strength and experience in the peloton! I'm pretty new to the scene as far as group riding is concerned and need some practice in some easy going groups. :)

I swapped out the Stelle Italia Flite for an SLR and I tossed the Tompson stem back on. It's currently a 4 inch drop from the widest part of the saddle to the hoods.

Just got done cleaning it. Quick snapshot:

That's ideal. I guess I would need a stem with something like -12% for that.

much better with the Thompson.

I just ordered this exact frame as my race bike for the season. I'm supposed to have it by mid-march. I love the look of this frame so much I just couldn't resist.

Nice! I'm sure you will be happy with it.

wisgliebau; I often do this ride on Saturdays:

It's a fairly fast pace but does regroup at the top of climbs. If you're up in the city, might be a good way to come down and check out the Santa Cruz mountains.

Been having some FD shifting problems. Shifting is not snappy on all. Also, when in the big ring. If I cross chain it all the way and shift into the biggest cog in the back, it pulls the chain down to the small ring. An unpleasant surprise when you're powering up a roller while in a tight group.

Turns out, the carbon fiber FD "braze on" mount is cracking where it attaches to the frame:

Compared it to another Addict R1 in the shop and that jagged line isn't there. The cage on the other bike is also noticeably stiffer if you press on it with your finger.

Figure it's probably one or two hard/bad shifts away from breaking off. So, my LBS is shipping the frame off to Scott for warranty inspection.

On a happier note, Saturday I did a 206 mile timed ride with 20,000 ft of climbing in 14 hours and 13 minutes. Bike was 100% comfortable the entire time.

Going to miss it. Hopefully the warranty doesn't take too long.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully you will get your new frame soon (and it won't crack again).

This is a great excuse to upgrade to the new Scott FOIL!
Cross your fingers they don't have any Addicts in your size.

Congrats on your 206-mile ride ... outstanding!

Sorry to hear about the crack; glad you found it and not create an accident.

What will be riding until the new bike arrives?

Thanks.

Almost done rebuilding my Ridley Damocles. Had started getting parts a while ago as I wanted it for crit and backup duty. It's going to be heavy though.
