Racing on Clinchers. Which tires and tubes?

Vittoria EVO CX 320 with Michelin latex tubes. Best combo ever.

Vittoria Open Corsa CX with Schwalbe SV20's.

Also have good experiences with Schwalbe Ultremos, but couldn't get comfortable on them after the second recall. Veloflex' are outstanding aswell, but I found them a bit too fragile (I am a big believer of training on your racing tyres).

Well, i race with the Conti's supersonic and Michelin latex on DA wheels. I've never had flats ...yet.(Cross my fingers) Latex for the feeling and the Supersonic because of the grip they give me. But be aware, one brutal braking and the tire's surface is damaged.

I raced the last two years on Conti GP4000s and basic, heavy QBP tubes.

This year, I switched to Conti Supersonics and Conti Race Light tubes (I didn't feel like paying almost $20 for Supersonic tubes).

The tires reportedly weigh about 150g while the tubes weigh about 65g - I have not weighed them myself, but am going on what Conti reports and what is reported on the WW listings.

So far I have been happy enough with them. I did find myself skipping around some corners this past weekend, but I don't know if I would have had that issue with GP4000s or other tires.

Same here. Very light tires and the lowest Crr of anything you'd want to use in a road race... and decent puncture and cut resistance, considering. But the tread is very thin and won't last long.

Id also like a source for vredestein latex tubes.. My LBS had two hanging w/o box I bought.. But he couldnt get more.

Do vredestein make them anymore? I thought they were not? Could be wrong.

Schwalbe Ultremo R.1. Im considering going to ZX or Vittoria's later, since the puncture resistance is so poor/get sliced up pretty easily(staight through the belt making it dangerous or unridable)

Schwalbe Ultremo R.1 / Continental Supersonic Ultralight Tubes. You can get the tubes in a 60MM presta if your riding a semi aero wheel. Ultremos are rated up to 140 psi.
