ROI carbon brakes...
Moderator: robbosmans
all the talk about CAT and AX-Lightness brakes and noone has ever mentioned these carbon beauties that I saw on the Pezcyclingnews.com website. They were on display in the "Best of Show" pt. 2 section. The company is Italian but that is all I know. Would anyone know anything about this company and their product? The brakes seem alot smoother than the CATS and they seem to be dual pivot as opposed to the AXs. I'm sure this would make a big difference in stopping power, but hard to tell until someone who has them can tell us all about them.

Pezcyclingnews.com-then go to the "Tech 'n Spec" section on the top of the screen. Once there scroll down until you get to the Interbike "Best of Show Vol. 2" section-then scroll down until you get to the Adidas sunglasses, they are right after this exhibit.

I kinda like those brakes as I also like this bike which is equipped with those. they call it the bike with Jeans hehe.
by the way the brakes are called Zefiro.
you can check out www.roibike.it I checked ,but they din't put a price yet on their brakes.

they are said to be 160g w/o pads, that is a 30g more than zero gravity or ax-lightness. have a look at www.ingenieurtec.de ("katalog 2004" and scroll down to "zefiro carbonrennradbremse 160g".
i would not mind paying the 30g penalty for the brakes, if they brake better than the AX-Lightness or the Cat/Z-Gravity brakes.
any word on their performance? they look to have a similar design to the current dual pivot brakes from campy and DA. if they perform closer to them, they could be a hit.
what is the price for the pair?

I have the 0G-05 brakes and they did not ship with the brake pads lightened at the rear surface, they weighed 183g the pair and they stop better than my 04 Record brakes ever did with Zipp carbon pads on Zipp 280 rims (silica ceramic braking surface.)
That's my experience, which appears to go against what spytech is implying in the previous post. Still, one observation is little basis for a statistical inference about the population of 0G brakes.
cheers,
