Defo think the next step is wireless maybe 5 yrs down the line, you'll need power sources at each point. I think battery power is the limiting factor at the minute and cost. I'll stick with SR for the time being.

i were rich i would trie the nexave 810 di2 on my bike
it has a automatich shifting function
proberly more heavy then a shimano sora drivetrain

i am running the 7900 ti clamps on my sr11 because the btp clamps would not fit snug on my tlo bar
i could of try filling the gap with rubber but its not worth it for me

Might be easier to take a piss before a ride though

But now he's got the lighter Di2 and then he takes a piss...now that's real weight savings!

I replaced the stock battery with a 220mAh lipo battery pack saving 96g. I initially used a 80mAh battery but found that under heavy shifting or repeated use of the FD the voltage drop caused the battery to think it was flat and stop working. A shame as the 80mAh battery was so compact.
I also swapped out the stock pad holders for KCNC. A massive weight saving of 24g mostly from Ti hardware. But I also swapped to Swissstop GHP2 which were 2g heavier than stock. Must admit the stock DA pads are very good. Don't notice much if any gains from Swissstop GHP2 but I don't do much wet riding which is where they are supposed to make massive difference.

Nice. Can you tell us how you did the mod. What parts you used, etc? Where you got the stuff from.

The cells are Tenergy 220mAh http://www.batteriesinaflash.com/r-c-ho ... r-or-plane
You will need two to make the battery pack.
The connectors are EDAC
http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/sear ... &x=17&y=19
http://uk.rs-online.com/web/search/sear ... &x=32&y=11
You will need one socket for the cell and two plugs - one for the Di2 connection and one for the charger.
Then you will need the help of an electrician to make the cell and enclose it in shrink wrap. Then cut off the stock Di2 battery adapter and solder on the new lead (this is tricky as the wires are very thin).
The battery pack weighs around 14g and I attached it to the frame with some velcro.
In theory it will last 40% of the life of the stock Di2 battery which is 540 mAh. So I would guess around 400 miles based on what others are reporting.

Hi,

great tips to modify the battery pack. Will definetly use some when I decide to go ahead with Di2 setup.

Question:

If I only want to run rear derr. for now, do I need both front+rear harness?

I know I need the adjustment buttons for initial tuning, but could I remove the box afterwards and connect a satelite shifter straight to rear harness-battery-rear derr.?

It would save weight, reduce the amount of cables and possibly some $ since a shop could do the adjustment for me

Any ideas?

ok so I answer me    after a night to search all the information for cistom my Di2 I can help the guys who are in the same situation of me

so for find a compatible stick it's simple you have to find a li-po accu with

7.4V obligatory
minus (for a confortable use) 550 mah
maximum as you want (but more mah want to say more of weight and more size ) generaly i saw 800 or 1200 mah
and for the last indacation the C you have to take
minus: 20C and more is better you can find 25 or 30C

so I have buy this mornig the one with

7.4V
800 mah
20C

Image

high of 7.5 centimeter just the size of the nosecone for my shiv there isn't better ;-)

bye

I run Ultegra Di2 which have 2 wires and not 4 like Dura Ace. Will it then be enough with only one battery?

I am running Ultegra i2 - I want to put the Battery in the seatpost. Would this work?

Battery: thinking this one - http://www.batteryspace.com/customizedp ... thpcb.aspx

What about using USB connections? easy to charge. The Ui2 is 2 wire. Just splice the battery cable into the usb and the battery to the other usb and plug and play?

Try the internal Battery from Icarus as seen on my bike here: http://www.bikerumor.com/2011/11/10/sic ... sh-cycles/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Lighter than the stock battery and 50% more endurance.

here is the link to Icarus. http://icaruslights.com/batteries/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am currently using cateye buttons for my front derr. with great success.

However, I have been looking for a single switch that could operate the derr. both up and down.

Is anyone using something like this?
