I have a Pegoretti Marcelo with Campy Chorus 10 and I use it as my Sunday Cruiser and long ride bike.

Love that De Rosa! Those Campa Delta are really good looking! Nice!

Any idea how much the weight is?

beautiful de rosa! the deltas are fabulous. i miss croce d'aune group. back then, steel bikes with record were under $2,000. it's ridiculous how expensive bikes have become. for $2,000, you can't buy a bike nearly as nice as good campy steel bike.

Why steel? a cool bike is cool forever. Weight is one thing but lets face it, its not the only thing. Riding a classic brings joy. I want a 30ish race bike for my collection. My wife is less then amused :wink: If I had to ride only one bike however it would be my WW wonder

Thanks. The reason the brakes look so new is because they are. The majority of the parts on this bike are Ebay finds. I wanted to build up a modern classic bike with C-Record - and all of the parts that I needed could not be found at your LBS :).
The bike weighs....get ready for it.....19.70 lbs. My Calfee bike it quite a bit lighter but this bike is more spectacular to look at (it rides smoothly as well).

I'm thinking of making a steel bike frame, as a hobby sort of a thing, I'm currently pricing components and am hoping to make it with as few shimano or campy components as possible. I'm hoping that it can be made light and am doing things like an integrated seatpost etc.

I own two steel bikes
1. Pinarello Sestriere Banesto color 1999 model with veloce 10V
2. Veinsteins Paris-Roubaix 2004 11th place frame build with Mirage 10V (I converted the Mirage handle to 10V)

Love the bikes
use them for touring, easy climbing :-), winter trainning or for bad roads rides, trainning on the trainner/rolls (you wont catch me with a carbon frame on a trainner/roller :-) )

I strongly suggest owning a 10kg machine to appreciate the lightness of the 6.2 kg La roi (that I own) :-)

Caygill Ultra Foco with Lightweight wheels, love it and it's very comfortable. Approx 6.6 - 6.7 kg. Ialso have two bikes with Reynolds 853, but the Ultra Foco's better.

Is it TIG welded or Brazed?
Looks like a carbon rear end and a !.125" steerer?
Any idea of the frame weight?

What is the frame tubing? and what spec are you running, as the photo is a little small to tell?

The frame is tig welded. The carbon rear end is Columbus and the steerer 1 and 1/8.
The guy who built is is Richard Kent but he doesn't build frames any longer. It weighs 1,700 g. The fork is Look HSC5.

The steel type is True Temper S3 steel, which I think is one of the lightest,
Im pretty sure it is lighter than ultra foco.

I only weight 135, so I have never worried much about flex of a bike. I like
the way it rides, but it is a custom fit and I am pretty sure most other bikes
I have ridden were too small. The S3 tubes are oval at a few joints so it
couldnt be totally lugged, but there is a botom bracket lug and a seat collar
lug.

Last season I got into a crash during and had to have a seatstay replaced.
No problem! Steel is pretty cool.
