decided to sell the unbranded wheels which i couldnt fix without having changing rims.
so decided permanently use an easton ec90sl which i already have.
here's the updated build.
and also decided to use the short stack headset cap so cut the steerer a bit more, leaving just enough to still be able to use the original acros headset.

you cant buy fitness, but you can buy advantage.
How do you preload the headset bearings using that arrangement?
Can the Eastons be debadged?
Still great looking ride.

-the steerer cap is goes in pretty tight inside the steerer tube so i just use it as a preload. so far no problems. can also use a 1 1/8 expanded plug with a shim but havent tried it yet.
-no the eastons cant be debadged without scraping the clear over the decals.

The bike looks great! I personally loved it with the 20mm tubbies, I am kinda prefer the old school in the wheel department.........I have just ordered a set which are the exact same or similar. Have you put many miles on yours? What are your thoughts??

should be around 2000km put in.
aside from being light (908g for pair) and nice if the road goes upward and holds well in descents with good braking (xiamen sports 210g rim with swisstops), i personally think they lack the momentum or follow-thru to hold speeds in flat. compared to the ec90sl or the previous unbranded 50mm, just a little coasting and the bike slows down significantly. probably a combination of lack of weight and shape/depth of the rims.

+1 for decal removal
if i have to remove the decals, then might just as well use an unbranded wheelset. i have 2 here so if i need the stealth fix, ill just switch them on.

are you sure you want to part with your levers and rd for more more or less 2 months and send it all over to asia for a hobbyist who works only on his free time to work on it?
