here's my favourite ride.

Merckx MXL frameset/NOS - 1996/ 52cm
Cinelli 101 stem/26.4mm/100mm with Merckx pantograph
Giro D'Italia 26.4mm "shallow" bars
Record 11groupset
Chorus 11 crankset
Hyperon Ultra Two clincher
Selle Italia Flite carbonio
Cinelli bartape
Record 27.2 seatpost
Elite carbon cage
Look Keo "Easy"

I don't have a weighing scale at the moment, my guess is approx 18lbs..

Cheers! :beerchug:

Very nice! nice build kit also. It just does not get any better that some of the older Merckx frames.

Lovin the Merckx, built up a Titanium EX a couple years ago and loved it. Sold it for some fancy dancy carbon and regret it to this day. Gorgeous ride, enjoy!!

Beautiful! Look after it as it will outlast most of the plastic bikes on here...

How do you fit an 11 speed, 135mm rear hub in a 130mm (or maybe even 126mm when it's older) frame??

@Roel,

well, the '96 MX Leader comes with 130mm rear, so zero issues with modern components.

the only issue so far are the chrome dropouts, no aftermarket skewers due to insufficient bite -
causing the rear wheel to slip from its dropouts.
