Huh. Looks painted.
Know what I would do? (Almost immediately, actually... heck: weigh it, then do the following)
-Sand blast the cap, remove all the paint.
-Hard anodize Type III in whatever color you choose.
It will then probably be a bit lighter if that is indeed paint.

Or just buy it anodised instead?

I need a non of small setback version (now I have the 8mm version).
