I started trimming things a couple months ago and I've already shaved almost 2 lbs. from the Tarmac, if you can believe it. For a small carbon bike like that, I was kinda surprised to see it weighed almost 18 lbs. when I got it stock. Started with wheels and skewers. Then saddle, post, bars, stem, and pedals.

So, I guess the next phase is the group. Red perhaps. However, I'm quite partial to Shimano, so maybe Dura Ace. It'll be a bit before I take on that part. Maybe after the first of the year.

The track bike is pretty much sorted. I could lighten up the wheelset, but I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

Ultegra brakes are good but they're heavy. I use KCNC on my Tarmac S-Works. A cheap upgrade but shaved about 125g if I remembered.

Thanks, all. I'm super happy with the way the Tarmac is riding right now.

tonytourist: Yeah, Oakland (and the Bay in general) is pretty nice to ride in and there isn't much flat around. So almost every ride we do around here has some form of climbing in it.

wcntan80: I'll take a look at those brakes. Might be another spot I can get rid of some weight before I go full on with the group swap.
