My body is sending me strange signals, i eat (usually quite alot) then i go away for 30mins or something, then i get Really hungry and eat a whole lot more. I eat dinner at 1900 and then while i am lying in bed waiting for sleep, im hungry again. Why dont i feel satisfied after a meal, Is it because of the extra carbohydrated i require as a result of my training? or am i just strange?

Are you eating low or high GI foods?

exercise tends to surpress the appitite.

you may also want to check the energy content of the energy drink you are using. How does this stack up with the calorie burn during cycling From memory: a cyclist at medium intensity will burn around 9-11 calories a minute.

Bruiser is also correct, in suggesting you chek the GI of the foods you intake. Various food groups release their energy quickly (e.g. sugar) and other more slowly (e.g. nuts).

If you have pets or come into close contact with pets, don't take this the wrong way, you might have worms. As disturbing as it might be, that means you are feeding more than just yourself. Easy to fix, get the right medication.

Azonic has made a good point, but try eating more for breakfast.

Increase your protein intake - it will make you feel fuller after a meal, and because your digestion rate slows with higher protein levels you shouldn't be staving again within the hour.

Your stomach will grow over time as you eat more.

A bit off topic.... but.....

When I ride (er, daily) I tend to refuel when I get home, sticking to normal meal times and with no snacks. I eat 3 - 4 times a day and never processed food. However, my farts really really stink. Is this the same for anyone else? It doesn't seem to matter what I eat. I think that it might be something to do with your body needing every last bit of nutrition that the food contains (not like inactive people who possibly don't need all the food they eat) and so the waste that you produce is more concentrated!

Sorry to lower the tone! Does anyone else have this problem?

I eat 12 wheet biscuits before I hit the road and another 12 when I get home, but I know my stomach has grown.

I too have a flatulence problem, but more the quantity rather than concentration.

Guess I'm lucky but the only thing that triggers high flatulence with me is strong concentrations of protein (strong as in from powders, bars, etc). this only tends to happen during lifting season as that's when I'm increasing my protein more.

I go through tremendous amounts of water, and this has helped my body function much better than in the past.

I was told someday (long time ago ...) that you need 12 to 15 farts a day just to be healthy as an active person. I get that number without any problem :) sometimes I beat it by far :D Never considered it as a problem.
