Hi Everyone....first time post for me on WW.

Can any of you guys help me with specific details of my 2007 Bontrager XXX Light Tubular wheelset please? After following the sub 1000gram wheel build for under $1000 I got thinking that I could make my Bonti set lighter than the 1270 grams that it is now. To save money and be able to get really light and strong spokes and hubs I was thinking of keeping the rims and re-lacing it with Sapim CX-ray spokes (about 240grams?) to new Extralight SX hubs (185 grams F&R). So to see if it's worth my time taking the wheel apart I need to know specifics which I cannot find on the Bonti website......

1.The Carbon rim. I need to know what weight it is and possibly who makes it for Bonti.
2.What spokes it is laced up with. It looks like the drive side pulling spokes are a beefier item but roughly how much would that spokeset weigh? I think I read they use alu nipples but that may be only on the newer models.
3.As far as I know the hubs are a straight pull flangeless set made especially for Bontrager by DT Swiss but again is it the 340, 240 or the 190 series?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks. Mik.

The correct is 1290 fot clincher and 1190 for the tubular version.
From my experience they are very very closed to thet numbers in real life.

The hubs are dt-240.
always try to be better, rider, person...

I have a set of wheels built with the OCLV 110-version of the XXX lite tubular rim. I didn't get a chance to weigh the rim but It was quoted at 318 grams per rim. I have the weights of the hubs but not the spokes but my calculations indicate that around that weight seems correct.

Bontrager carbon rims are made in wisconsin by trek/bontrager. Drive side spokes are dt new aero; nds and front are dt aerolites. My 06 tubulars came in at 1280g.
