Okay, when I joined this forum, my Ridley Damocles was at 18.7 lbs:

Saved up a little cash, did some research and spent some money. She is now down to 16.5 lbs with her overweight frame (1300+) and PowerTap PRO+ rear hub (~480g).

Full SRAM Red group (except for a Dura Ace chain)
Selle Italia Flite Kit Carbonio saddle
T3 ROTUNDO TEAM bars
Look Blade pedals
Michelin Pro 3 tires
KCNC Ti QR Skewers

I like the cleaned up cables compared to my Ultegra 6600. Still need to cut a little steer tube off and trim the seat post. Seat post is still the full 410mm. Going to get it taken care of this week when I get refit. Tried to transfer all my measurements but I think I did a poor job.

In what way did the size down not fit you?

I think everything is the right size, I'm still on the same frame, fork, seat post and stem. Just need someone to give me a hand with my saddle position. Going to go to the shop around the corner and have them do a consultation fit. Make sure my pedal stroke looks good.

110mm, -10%, Thomson Elite X2 stem. Seems to do the job. Though I saw on someone's signiture that Thomson parts are only for mountain bikes. Whoops. :noidea:

Rest of the old parts.
Large Ridley Damocles frame & fork
DT Swiss 240s/Mavic Open Pro front wheel
PowerTap PRO+/Mavic Open Pro rear wheel
Thomson Masterpiece seatpost
Maxxis Ultralight tubes

Thanks! The weight loss has paid off. Got a new PR on a local climb at almost the same power.

http://www.strava.com/segment_efforts/1882426
* Distance: 3.2 mi
* Avg Grade: 7.8%
* Elevation Gain: 1,300 ft

Previous PR: Mon, Jul 19, 2010 - 268 avg power, time - 22:23
Current PR: Tue, Aug 3, 2010 - 270 avg power, time - 21:41

So, it looks like I cut off 40 seconds by taking off:
3 lbs from my body (6', 158 to 155 lbs)
2 lbs from my bike
1.5 lbs doing it without extra water

Anybody know what the ID of the hole in the headtube is for this particular frame?
I.e. what's the fattest cable housing that will fit?
I've got a potential customer keen on an answer: I have asked Ridley directly but so far no reply. :|
vertebrae | Precision braking and shifting.
vayakora | Eco mouse mats: silk, linen, cotton, ramie, bamboo, etc.

I love the way this frame rides. Tracks well, stiff and comfortable. Looks good too, IMO. But it's heavy and the support I've gotten from Ridley (and/or Ridley's US distributor) was shitty. Had to replace my RD hanger and it took them over 3 months to get me a new one. This was early in the year. Fortunately, my LBS had another Damocles in stock, they took the hanger off that one and gave it to me. So, I guess it just took them 3 months to get my LBS a new RD hanger.

Nice bike. How do you like the KCNC Skewers? I was thinking of getting a pair to shave some weight on my own bike.
It's all downhill from here, except for the uphills.

No problem so far. I followed the recommendation to tighten them more then you would steel skewers though. My scale said mine are 48g while the Mavics they replaced were 120g.

I'm looking for ways to put my Damocles on a diet too.
The current build is:
Damocles XS frame / fork
SRAM Force drive train
DA chain
NG Brakes - SS
Ritchey Logic II bar 44mm
Ritchey 4Axis stem 100mm
Fizik Alliante
Arundel Mandible (1x) cage
w/ Mavic KS wheels / Vittoria corsa evo cx tires plus DA 11-23 cass.

Weighs in around 16lb 9oz +/-
Wheels are the first to go... Zipp 303s are the replacements

It is a very stiff frame, especially as I'm light. But sure not a fast climber / accelerator ... perhaps the rider not bike. At times almost feels like dead weight. I'll know better when I swap wheels...

Your Ridley looks NICE. :thumbup:
How do you like your Ridley? What size is your Damocles? I just ordered the Pozzato Damocles ISP and am hoping the sizing works for me. I am in between the Large and XL sizes and opted for the XL hoping it works well
