pk0r - I am very interested in picking this up as my next Di2 super weenie project when it is commercially available but have one question if you are in a position to answer it - is the frame subject to any industry tests like EFBe or others? At this weight, durability is important. C bikes can be superlight and stiff but could be brittle, so durability tests are important to reassure consumers.

I have done a paper build on this 580g frame with Di2 (untuned) and come up with about 4.1 to 4.2kg - more than 0.5kg lighter than my existing build, or put it in another way, more than 10% lighter which makes it interesting to embark on this project.

The frame will for sure be tested according to EFBe standards as that is a widely accepted industry standard. We have already been working with EFBe before on other of our products as well.
Further complete specs (spec tables) are to follow as said and will as well show whether Dan (djconell) should start playing the lottery or not. :mrgreen:

You guys are assuming its going to be astronomically priced and poo-pooing it already.
Look at the list price of the AX crankset. Its right in line with Zipp and less than THM.
Same with the AX fork- its less than or equal to the THM depending on the model.
This is high-end cycling equipment and you expect to pay a premium for it. Dont knock it for price before its even out.

No complaints from me on price. This isn't like Project California. On the other hand, I have none of the components you cite, either. "High end" is Red, Dura-Ace, that sort of thing. THM, AX, Schmolke, etc are more like "ultra-high-end". Which is great: I'm definitely a fan.

i would love this frame for my next build i hope it will be cheaper than the project california .i wonder if it will be out next year?i know you pay for quality and the lighter you go the more expensive it gets when its due out ill put my name down for one asap.

Nobody is poo-pooing the price. In fact, at the indicative price of Euros 4,600 for frame, fork, headset, it is a "steal", especially $ per g. This price in fact should set a market standard for the other circa 600g weenie manufacturers. I dare say that it may lead to more reasonably priced uber weenie offerings in the future. Winning the lottery just makes it sweeter :lol:

My "steal" reference is to circa 600g production (not custom) FRAMES which are fully compliant with industry tests like EFBe (costs money to do this but reassures consumers). I guess I did not make clear that I was comparing $ per g to other comparable circa 600g frames. Did not make reference to components - that is another category. Also, I think the circa 600g frames are different from circa 900g frames where the competition among manufacturers are higher. It may not be a linear $ per g saved function when we go lighter and lighter but at the 600g range, I would consider the AX Alpha as well priced. This frame is more reasonably priced compared to Project California (and one other that I am aware of but not released as public information yet) for example.
