might be building a wheelset with XRC 300 28h + DT 190's or perhaps Innolite 28h rims if 300's are too hefty

i laced up some 28h XRC 330's + DT 190's this time last year: plenty strong + not much noticeable flex for 70kg rider + very responsive

does anyone have any real world weights for 2010 XRC 300 rims? ... DT Swiss has 310g + or - 5g, is that accurate?

is anyone riding about on the new rims, how do they compare to XRC 330's or Innolites?

cheers

You have a pic on scale here:

http://www.r2-bike.de/webshop/Laufrad/D ... :3331.html

I guess these or the later version are not so popular due to price vs. weight. Take 4x less expensive ZTR rims for example...but that's it for Off Topic :D

I almost ended up with Innolites(have their disc brake rotors), but then the price jumped from 400e to 500e a piece :x From what I have heard the spoke drilling is not so accurate.

thanks for the link, r2-bike seem to stock everything but are always more expensive

Innolite's price hike caught me out also, but have not been impressed with close-up photos of their rims/spoke holes compared to DT Swiss or Edge carbon rims, and XRC 300's are cheaper than Innolites now

i've ZTR Podium MMX rims (for sale here) nice & light + laser marked spoke holes now so perhaps better durability(?) - but there's nothing quite like carbon rims

I have built up a couple of sets and they build up beautifully. I am always very pleased with DT products. I have never had any issues with using their spokes, rims and hubs.

The build you quote out will make a great set. I have built up some very similar and they are well under 1400grams and have been a very solid, stable and reliable wheelset with very little truing nessecary.

thanks,

thats exactly why i'm (being boring and...) building another DT XRC wheelset, after 12 months training with a 1233g XRC 330 wheelset without a single issue whatsoever, and now even better with 36 star upgrade on the 190 hub - i'm sold on their durablity + performance & price

just to compare, please does anyone have any more links to pics of XRC 300 rim's on scales?

...why did Innolite jack up the price of their rims, is the manufacturing process different now?

thanks eliflap-scalpel, i don't suppose you know what did the rim weighed? (or the weight of the other componants + sealant)

i wonder how much of their stock r2-bike had to go through to find a rim @ 308g

...does anyone have any DT XRC 300 rim weights?

thanks

Those wheels are so sexy!

Isn't that the same setup as the XRC 1.2 factory wheelset from DT?

thanks

sexy? ...was trying to get a stealthy look with all black kit - now has black electrical tape over the red DT graphics so hard to tell what they are once they get dirty

i think the DT wheelset is 24h - so perhaps 35g lighter than my build, I'm hoping my 28h hoops will last so not bothered about the difference in weight (well not that much!)

best

Do you guys ride this carbon rims on rocky trails? ow do they hold up with rocks hitting the rims? How is the stiffness compared to aluminium rims?

yes

really depends on the rock, i don't run them less than 25psi just incase

the XRC rims are very stiff and strong

What are the narrowest tires with pressure that I can run on the XRC 300 rims?

Also, what are the weights of the DT 190 hubs?

Thanks much WW bros!
