From the picture you seem to ride your bike like my Grandmother drives her car on a Sunday afternoon. She is soo slow the tailbacks can be for miles.
I see the case is similar with your riding!
You maybe dont need a lighter bike just get a chairlift and concentrate on the downhills.
Small tip - you go faster if you dont use the brakes!

I´m 25 and school teacher, it´s my first year (and as you can see, I´m not english teacher...).
The picture is from 2002, it´s from a MTB TT. The old Principia with SID SL and crossmax is sold. Now I have a S-works Epic with Chris King/ CX-ray wheels, B4sl and a SID sl 2002. I´m looking for a replacement for the SID fork, so if you have any recommendations I like to hear them. I think it will be a Fox F80X, Skareb super or Platinium or SID Team with remote.

I'm 29 years old. Sorry no electronic pics (will look into getting some - likely to take a couple of weeks).
I commute road / off-road 500 miles a month.
I've only riden since April 2003.
Never Raced. Done only half a dozen real XC rides. By real I mean man made off-road trails. Most weekends I get out an ride some off-road miles.
I'm just starting to get into mountain biking and I enjoy that my fitness has improved. Was 14.5 Stone now 12.5 Stone, in only 9 months.
I'm in a well paid job, so I'm looking to get my bike upgraded. Couldn't afford say £4k (UK) for a bike upfrant so, have been spending around £300 a month on bike bits.
This site has been very helpful in improving my set-up.
A ride with a friend who has been mountain biking for around 15 years.
He rides a Pace 300. He also owns a Cannondale and races semi-pro.

30 year old QA Manager in Boulder, CO (USA). Been racing for at least 8 years, with podium placings in just about every discipline(road, track, cyclocross, MTB). Had my last two seasons ruined by first blowing my hips out, then a nasty car accident. I coach juniors now, too....
