someone in the 2010 pro gear thread, back on page 153, made a comment about Wiggans claiming he was too skinny for Roubaix. Can any one explain that to me? How does having more fat help? Do you just not get banged around as much on the cobbles?

Physiologically speaking, in P-R pure power rules not power-to-weight ratio. So, body weight has nothing to do with it. He did lose weight, but he claims he didn't lose any power so according to him he should be just as fast in TT's and races like P-R...not that he was ever contesting P-R or that physiology is paramount in P-R.

Well, I botched my Crit Intl. prediction but does anyone else like Breschel this weekend?

I think you could do well worse than Breschel. From the limited highlights I've seen of the resent races he's looked very comfortable and strong.

As for P-R and weight, CC is on the money. I also recall people saying that if the weather is foul then the extra weight is handy in keeping you warm. Guess it didn't help too many riders in Kurne-Brussels-Kurne this year.

From Lance's twitter, thought it was kinda funny:

Once watched Tour of Flanders on TV w/ Eddy Merckx. Eddy says : "Lance, I don't like that race - I only won it twice". #greatestever

My view:

It was cool b/c it was Flanders, but there wasn't much suspense. Cancellara just decided he wanted to get to Meerbeke before anyone else.....so he went faster.

I don't know the suspense came when he and Boonen broke away. It was a case of when is Cancellara going to try and drop Boonen because he won't want to take it to a sprint. I was surprised in the manner than it was done. It looked like he wasn't trying and Boonen's speed had just dropped in half.

Armstrong out of Amstel Gold.

And Cav has a shot at Greipel

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/cavendi ... -criticism

I think we all know Greipel won't be at HTC next season, so I'm already licking my lips at those two racing against each other.

And "last year I won it picking my nose"

Bummer that Jamis and Bahati were left out of AToC. They certainly deserve to be there.

As to Cav and Greipel, Greipel would dust Cav right now. Tour Down Under is not a little shit race by any stretch of the imagination. Whatever race Cav won a few weeks ago, that was a little shit race.
- Zipp rims will break if you look at them too hard
- R-Sys wheels will spontaneously explode
- The ZG crankset will never, ever exist
- Everyone needs Lightweights, even if they're fat and old
- Parts actually made of metal are SO 10 years ago

Tinea

I was about to post something on Cav comments regarding Greipel.

I cant believe it, Cavendish is a real little dickhead. What a cocky retard, saying he won san remo picking his nose. I just hope he stay out of shape as he is actually. Cant wait for the Haussler revenge in a sprint finish or for a Greipel ownage next season, or, say... at the worls ;)

He's just sulking because he doesn't have a GT Points jersey and Greipel does! Stupid boy.
