Anyone know where I can get hold of a 26.8mm layback 'masterpiece' in the UK (preferably silver)?

Not sure if they are available over here yet??

Didn't get that impression from their website. Also, with Thomson stuff its usually fairly indestructable.

I've emailed Thomson and will let you know if I hear anything back.

Have you tried asking the importer?

A guy called Alex UK or single speed punk who frequents in the MTBR single speed forum works for them might try him.

I have just fitted a setback masterpiece post.

Mine is 27.2 diam. and 330mm long.

I got mine through Leisure lakes in the UK. (I was told that it was the last available one in the UK at the moment, but I am sure that thomson has more than one importer in the UK).

I have had a normal elite post in the past and this new one feels scary light for an aluminium post. I have no worries about the strength as it is a thomson but it feels wierd as the oval internal section has been removed from the bottom part of the post and starts a couple of inches up the post. The head is just as bomb proof as ever which gives the false impression that the actual tube is way too thin to be strong.

I am already glad that I bought this post over all of the carbon posts I was looking at. :D

How much? Weight and price I mean.

Also is yours black or silver? I've heard some sizes aren't available in the silver.

Mine is 193gms in black @ 27.2 x 330mm long.

I paid £115.00, (normal retail), as I was in a hurry when I heard it was the last one in the country in exactly what I wanted.

I would suggest you try Sherwood Pines Cycles in Mansfield Nottinghamshire as they can get any size and colour listed on the USA website. They are also cheap as they sell the elite seatpost or stem for £55.00
