*Full detail un-boxing and build pics to come*

2010 Trek Madone 6 Series
Pearl White + Candy Red

Image

Build List:

Frame: Madone 6 Series (Red OCLV)
Groupset: SRAM Red
Wheelset: Custom built - Kinlin XR-300 + Chris King R45 (aka Swift) hubs + DT Aerolite spokes
Various Parts:
Bontrager XXX Stem + Handlebar (Not a fan of the bars. Any opinions on the Shimano PRO RACE bars http://pro-bikegear.com/publish/content ... /race.html)
Bontrager RXL Saddle (*I hate it... See below*)
Stock cables to be switched to Yokozuna or Nokon (any opinions?)
Bontrager Race XLite Tires (may be switched out to conti attack/force for training and ProRace3 for race days)
Dura-Ace 7810 pedals.

*I have never liked the RXL saddle because it just doesn't fit my rear-end. If anyone would like to purchase my RXL saddle I can ship it out the day I receive it. The bike will arrive sometime this week (Project 1 order) at the shop and I can ship out the saddle same day. Let me know if you're interested. I am not here to make a buck, offer me what you think is reasonable and I will accept.*

Cheers!
Markieta

PS. Any idea on weight for this baby? I am thinking ~15.5 lbs (~7030g), but hopefully less!

What a nice bike. Like also the color a lot.
I am also building a bike now with SRAM. Hope I like it.

Do not know much about the Shimano PRO RACE bars, but it indeed looks very cool.

Do you like the Dura-Ace pedals? I have one in my old bike, but will try the LOOk pedal in my new one.

Unboxed and built quickly. No adjustments made yet, fit will be dialed in throughout the week.

Really looking to upgrade the wheels, cant wait for that handbuilding session. Anyone interested in the Race Lites?

Cheers for looking!

I would advise against using attack/force for training, they aren't designed for it, i'd go for GP4000S

I'm not normally a Trek person, but this is really nice. I like the coordination of red hoods, cable housing, tires and graphics on the frame.

Yes, that is 14.5 as shown in the final picture.
Going to be bringing the bike home after fitting session with the boss.

-Dura-ace pedals to go on.
Cages... Recommendations? I would like white ones, but red or black would be ok as well.
-Garmin Edge 500 to go on. (Speed+Cadence sensor integrated into frame)

Waiting for the R45 Hubs (Swift) by Chris King. ETA end of January. Those will be paired with the XR300 and Aerolite spokes.

I think your scale may be a bit on the light side.. My R3SL is around that but that's with pedals.. Keo Carbons.

Very cool decal color! Can you give a little write up about the frame characteristics? You didn't happen to weight the frame did you?

On cages: I love the Elite Custom Macia cages. They would give you a little 'euro flair' to the bike too.

I like Arundel cages myself, either the Dave-O or Mandible.

I was allways wondering how is this seat? have you ride it yet?

Oh, and by the way one of the nicest Trek´s I ever seen!

Those are not decals carboncowboy, this is fully painted.

Cero, the seat hurts my ass. Not joking. I am more of a Selle Italia Flite Gel kind of guy myself. But I have not tested very many saddles to compare. I would like to try the Arione carbon saddles.

Jameslocker, it costs perhaps $8000 CAD.

I like Arione a lot. More than Selle.
But this depends from person to person. We don´t have the same butt shape thank god :D
