2010 Neo Ultimate - 5.2Kg -- further updates

On the seat post: this is a home made unit, kluged together from a GRACE seatpost/saddle unit that I got many years ago (from a guy in Amsterdam--I don't think he's doing it any more.) I made my own saddle and bonded them together to form what you see. It is extremely light and surprisingly comfortable--the saddle is so thin it flexes quite well, with a suspension support from the post. (I will post a photo shortly to show this.)
On the brakes: Having talked with Jason at FairWheel, I am waiting on a set of EE brakes. The Gravitas might look cool, and be CF, but in the end I think I need a set of brakes that work. My current ZeroG brakes are pretty much a squeeze and pray thing...
And, thanks to Jason, I might leave the extreme-WW club to get a Di2 setup--everyone I have spoken to says it's the BOMB. And it's such a bargain...haha.

Another 14g lost:
Pretty impressive weight for topcap and expander.
The original FSA plug and Syntace topcap weighed 26g.

Very nice choice! I am assuming that you have the Extralite topcap on the other side to complete the combo?
If i can see good, that looks like the TopCap with the pretty lady on it!

Bike is nice indeed. Any more info on ZeroG brakes ?
I just posted the latest photos, and the latest weight in the first post.
Should be getting FiberLyte rings (less weight) and EE brakes (a little more weight) in the next month--I hope!
As for the ZeroG brakes--they have been around for a long time. They don't weigh much, but I think there have been improvements in brakes since these were designed. They work, but not as well as other brakes I've tried (Campag SR, DuraAce).

I was thinking of doing that to my logos when I started removing the red on my bike. Then I saw this and I really like the glossy black! Great looking build.

Lookin' great Gandini! If I could make one suggestion that I think would fit into the overall look and lightweight rational you're going for here... How about BTP carbon weave hoods?

A bit expensive as hoods go ($60 bucks?), but Raxel put a pair on his recent build and shaved nearly 40 grams from his Sram Red shifter set... Pretty nifty weight loss! Cheers!

Those brake hoods look interesting--the photos on BTP's website look particularly "hand made" - I wonder if that is normal?
Also, the website doesn't have an order section--how do people in the US buy stuff from them?
cheers, and thanks for looking my bike over!
How is your bike doing, Gregory? It's so cold here these days that I just look at my bike and imagine riding it...
