Colnago Master X-Light Saronni PR82...steel weenie? Updated.

WW bike of the year. Amazing. How does it ride though? The weight is terrific.

Heh, thanks...it rides fantastic! Very smooth....decent snap but I can clearly tell a difference between it and a carbon ride. That being said my times up two local climbs were near identical to the last timed efforts so it's not like the frame is taking away chunks of power. Steel is real!?

Some questions/remarks:
- where did you find the Colnago seatpost in 27.2 (I did not found it)?
- why this handlebar? I always thought shallow bars look way better on this kind of frame, and the electa bars have a disproportional big drop for this little gem?
- Have you thought about white tape and saddle, and perhaps a silver seatpost?
- be carefull with cablerub on the headtube...

Thanks...yes, I already put some protective tape on the head tube to protect from cable rub. I did consider white tape/saddle and silver post but I just wanted an old classic frame with all modern components. It might not be to some liking but you can't please everyone...

Always wanted a classy steel bike like this - i miss riding my dads old steel bike - that thing was rock solid...

It's fantastic...silky smooth and comfortable. Of my bikes it's probably my favorite ride so far but that could be because it still has new car smell. It definitely doesn't pack as much snap as the C50 but I'm not complaining.

Thanks! Welllll...I'm pretty spoiled by wheels. I've been running with Lightweights for several years now and they inspire confidence on all facets. I'd like to say the Fulcrums ride better/not as harsh but it's pretty hard to compare with steel in the middle of it all as well. I need to just swap on the Lightweights at some point and try that combo. They look pretty good on the Master.
